Anxiety patients
Never fear the dentist again
Almost everyone is afraid of dental treatment to a greater or lesser extent, but sometimes you can even speak of a dental phobia.
his feeling of panic fear leads to avoidance of dental visits, which in turn results in the teeth being in poor condition over time. If you belong to this group of patients, we can help with the help of our anaesthetists, Dr Zekiye Yanic-Karaca and Dr Bieger-Stehnkuhl. State-of-the-art intravenous anaesthesia procedures enable you to undergo treatment without fear or pain.
Even after the anaesthetic, no impairment of your general condition or problems such as nausea are to be expected.
Sedation against dental anxiety
Sedation for dental anxiety is a method of relaxing or anaesthetising anxious patients during dental treatment. There are different types of sedation, including local anaesthesia, intravenous sedation and nitrous oxide sedation. Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages, which we will discuss with you. It is very important to us that you clarify any questions and concerns in advance in order to find the sedation method that is right for you.
General anaesthesia for anxious patients
General anaesthesia is a deep form of sedation in which the patient is unconscious during the procedure. This is usually used for extensive or complicated dental procedures where local anaesthesia or other sedation methods are not sufficient. However, general anaesthesia is also a tried and tested method to enable anxious patients to visit the dentist without fear. During a general anaesthetic, one of our anaesthetists continuously monitors the patient to ensure that they remain safe and stable. Before you decide on a general anaesthetic, we will discuss all the risks and benefits of this sedation method with you.
Laughing gas for anxiety at the dentist
To take away your fear of a visit to the dentist, we offer you a gentle anaesthetic with laughing gas in addition to normal sedation or a general anaesthetic. Nitrous oxide has a calming and anxiety-relieving effect. It relieves pain and helps you to relax at the same time.
This means you can be treated in a relaxed and anxiety-free manner. At the same time, you remain conscious and responsive.
Anaesthesia with nitrous oxide is the safest form of dental sedation.
Modern and safe sedation with nitrous oxide offers you many advantages
Simply take the first step and let us advise you. During your first visit, you are welcome to do so outside the treatment room or not lying in the treatment chair, in a relaxed atmosphere.

“Trust right from the start…
As the pressure of suffering increased, I plucked up all my courage and contacted Dr Tschackert’s practice by email. I had already cancelled countless visits to the dentist; just the smell of a dental practice caused my blood pressure to skyrocket, my heart began to race, I broke out in a sweat and panicked. A first appointment was arranged at very short notice. And as soon as I entered the practice, it was immediately apparent that things were different here: no overcrowded waiting room, no reading circle magazines, no hectic pace. The staff are all extremely friendly and attentive.
Dr Tschackert even managed to get me into a treatment room. Tools that would make me uncomfortable were put to one side. All the necessary steps were explained to me and I was always asked whether the next diagnostic step was OK for me. As expected, the diagnosis was unpleasant. We discussed various treatment options. We discussed various treatment options and then jointly decided in favour of a restoration using the fast and fixed method. I could hardly believe it myself, but when asked which jaw we should start with, I replied that we should do everything in one go. Just three weeks later, the operation was scheduled and the advantages, disadvantages and risks were explained to me in detail and clearly.
In a 6-hour operation under twilight anaesthesia, i.e. not under general anaesthesia, all the teeth were removed, a total of 10 implants were placed and a load-bearing temporary restoration was inserted in the evening. I can assure every patient that I was completely pain-free after the operation (and in the days that followed) and that any swelling was negligible. Of course, I can only speak for myself: Dr Tschackert and his team enjoy my absolute trust, and my smile testifies to his precise work. I would like to thank everyone at the practice for their outstanding care!”
